چکیده
Abstract. In the present work, heat transfer behavior of CO2 hydrate dissociation was studied in three quartz sand particles (QS-1, QS-2 and QS-3) with varying grain sizes. The evaluated by determining heating rates porous media (quartz sand) during process 3.3 wt.% NaCl. experiment performed using sandstone reactor first forming hydrates at 4 MPa 274.15 K then dissociating from to 277.15 K, respectively. results indicate that thermal response sediment significantly influenced as well properties. rate increased when size increased. However, presence reduced due endothermic nature dissociation. mainly depends on type pattern formed (pore-filling, load-bearing, cementation) location within pores sediment. pore-filling formation sediments provides high stability for storage its less contact particles. is challenged low or undesired capacity. These findings will provide meaningful insights select favorable properties/sites form sediments.

Characterizing the Dissolution Rate of CO2-Brine in Porous Media under Gaseous and Supercritical Conditions
The CO2-brine dissolution homogenizes the distribution of residual CO2 and reduces the leakage risk in the saline aquifer. As a key parameter to immobilize the free CO2, the dissolution rate of CO2-brine could be accelerated through mechanisms like diffusion and dispersion, which are affected by the subsurface condition, pore structure, and background hydrological flow. This study contributed t...

In this paper we analyze a model for brine transport in porous media, which includes a mass balance for the fluid, a mass balance for salt, Darcy’s law and an equation of state, which relates the fluid density to the salt mass fraction. This model incorporates the effect of local volume changes due to variations in the salt concentration. Density variations affect the compressibility of the flu...

Nanotechnology has various applications in oil and gas industry such as enhanced oil recovery (EOR). The main challenge in using nanoparticles in EOR processes is their stability in harsh conditions such as high temperature, high pressure, and intermediate to high salinity. However, most of the recent experimental works have been performed under unrealistic conditions such as the use of distill...
